Endoscopic Sinus Surgery

Endoscopic Sinus Surgery

Since 2008 I have had a very difficult time breathing through my nose. Since I was preggnant with my second son at the time I figured it was pregnancy related. That ended up not being the case. I finally complained to my PCP about it and he sent me to an Ear, Nose, Throat doctor. Turns out I had Chronic Sinusitis, Enlarged Turbinates, and a Deviated Septum that veered off to the left. Naturally the doctor wanted to perform a surgery to correct all these problems.

On the 24th at 6:30 AM I was scheduled to appear at the hospital for admittance. My mom accompanied me for this event. I Went under at around 7:15am for a two and a half hour surgery. where they repaired my septum, shrunk my turanites, and drained my sinus cavity.

I woke up shortly after in recovery where I was very discombobulated and groggy. I was well and ready to get out of there. My throat burned and my nose was sore as was my neck. We left and I came home to drink a light ginger soda to help my throat which it did. Then I went upstairs and slept the whole day away as my nose bled.

The 2nd day was a pain in a different sense. I had gotten into arguments with family members and avoided them as much as I could. My nose was still bleeding slightly and I had to keep it covered like pictured above. The bleeding seemed to have subsided after I engaged in a nice hot shower.

I'm on day three now and the only problem i'm having with my nose is dried balls of blood i have to dig out just to slightly breathe properly. I'm stuck being at home for a week to recover and it sucks because I will not be getting paid this time off at work. God help me in a speedy recovery.
